Cpl. Punishment Posted February 2, 2017 Share #1 Posted February 2, 2017 So a couple of weeks ago, I met with the daughter of a WWII veteran who wanted to donate (yes, this is all mine and I didn't spend a dime!) her father's items from the war to me. I am pretty pleased with this grouping! She is mailing me copies of her father's service papers and pictures soon so that will definitely complete the grouping! Also, what do you guys think of the 749th patch? Is this post war? I have never seen one like this before.

tredhed2 Posted February 2, 2017 Share #3 Posted February 2, 2017 Yes, the 749th patch is post war made for a reunion. I have one similar some place. Very few MRS units had UA insignia. You never now what else the daughter may find, so stay optimistic. I don't know if the design came from stationery, a sign, or what. I talked to a couple different 749th vets back in the 90s, and they were in their 90s, and just had no memory of anything other than ASF patches AND the reunion "patch" I had. Everything else you have there looks period.
