Hello,

I've recently acquired a "strap" in a flea market (among non military items). Firstly,I didn't identify it as a rifle sling. Returned at home, I compared it with my WW2 OD7 sling : same dimensions, same material and weave, but made in OD3 web and no marking.

Do you think this "sling" is ww2 made ?

Thanks for your help.

Regards

Bertrand

Post-scriptum : I'm interesting in founding the missing parts !

I am thinking that the very large "dimple" in the metal tab indicates a non-US maker. Is there any maker stamps on the canvas?

It could be ww2 it could be Korea or Vietnam also they issued canvas up to Vietnam until nylon was used in the 60's and if something like that is in supply it stays until issued,I have several canvas and nylon and two 1907 leather, one on my 513t but I prefer the web slings for shooting aides.

the design is kind of a universal rifle sling, it can be used on different rifles / riot shot guns

any country that adopted the M1 Garand or M14 , M16 , could have mfg this, that could explain the different shade of green

could be Greek surplus, Taiwan, South Korea, Italy, etc.
