42ndbombers Posted January 29, 2017 Share #1 Posted January 29, 2017 I picked this patch up a couple years ago and haven`t been able to ID it. I`m guessing the MAW means Marine Air Wing and the PAC is short for Pacific. It looks like there`s a scroll on it and maybe a nuclear symbol under the missile. Any thoughts? Looper5920 Posted January 29, 2017 Share #4 Posted January 29, 2017 MAWTUPAC = Marine Air Weapons Training Unit Pacific. This is an early patch for the USMC Weapons school that came to be in the early 1970s. It is now known as Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron 1 (MAWTS-1) and they are based at MCAS Yuma, AZ. Squadron history can be found here - http://www.29palms.marines.mil/Units/Marine-Aviation-Weapons-and-Tactics-Squadron-One/History/ It's a nice piece. Thanks for showing.
