It has been a year since I found any older USMC at the Flea Mkt so I snapped these up.

I would have called the one large sb a cover EGA and the collar em sb EGA both just  Md 1937 Enlisted unmarked EGA's but with all the different Model years & variations in the 2 new references I'm really confused.

Also the double marked "H&H" and "1/20 10K+ Sterling" and another "Sterling" marked  pinback (pin section broke off) I would have thought WWII Sterling and Gold Officers but now is everyone with pinback considered a Sweetheart item?

The 3rd item I believe is a sterling sweetheart item from 1940 or with the USMC on red, white and blue circle be for the WWI French tri-color?  All is marked sterling.

Experts  Straighten me out.  Richard

The brass enlisted cover emblem (large) and collar emblem (small) are straight-up WWII. The sterling and gold pin is definitely a common "sweetheart" piece from WWII and post-war (NOT an issue piece). The other sweetheart piece is just one of many WWII variations, but not WWI.

Thanks for the info.  I will guess at prices and sell the sweetheart pieces.  One day I will find the Officer version, a named USMC PH and a Raider Knife then "maybe" I'll feel my collection is enough for me. :) Guess I better speed it up as I'll be 79 in Feb.  Richard

Richard,

Nice flea market finds. The red, white and blue sweetheart pin and ega is not WW1 issue. It is of the vintage WW 2 PX variety. I would be interested in purchasing this item if You decide to sell it. Please let me know.

Thanks,

Alex
