KheSanhCollector Posted January 22, 2017 Share #1 Posted January 22, 2017 I bought this dog tag 2 days ago on ebay its now being shipped to my house. I read that the 2nd digit on tags say what area the soldier enlisted, the tag has a 2 there and the site says 2 can be NY the KIA LT is from NY too, did I buy a KIA dogtag of a 37th guy or could it be another person. I also ran his last name and serial number through the enlistment records no result. He received 2 bronze star medals

Jeffrey Magut Posted January 22, 2017 Share #3 Posted January 22, 2017 That would not be Nunzio A Pizzulli's tag. Your tag is A.N. Pizzulli, not N.A. Pizzulli. Nunzio had an officer serial number O 1301537 (prior enlisted service under 20251416) Your tag is far more likely to be Alexander Pizzulli, 1916-1985. Alexander, son of Nicola, of Brooklyn. Alexander served from 9/26/42 (corresponding with the 42 tetanus date on your tag) to 6/23/45. All info from ancestry. Hope this helps your search. KheSanhCollector Posted January 22, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted January 22, 2017 Could be a possbility too. I think i have to start a research then. Nunzio left the army in 1937 and was drafted during ww2 so it could be possible that he was given another ASN

GIKyle Posted January 23, 2017 Share #6 Posted January 23, 2017 I have to reiterate what Jeff said above: The KIA LT's initials are N.A. Pizzulli. The initials on your tag are A.N. Pizzulli. They are two different people. Additionally, pre-war guys that came back received their old ASN. Kyle
