Hello all

I will be in Maryland (close to DC) next week and wondered if there are any good militaria dealers in that area.

The area would be anything I can reach with a car within 3 hours so Maryland, VA, WVA, Delaware & PA

Let me know

Good luck on getting responses. :)

I've made similar posts in the past, and am usually met with owl hoots - and the occasional cricket chirp.

Most guys don't want to share their hunting spots.

I'm not super-familiar with that area, but have been to some decent antique stores around Annapolis. As a side note, would recommend visiting the Naval Academy if you can. They have a pretty nice museum, which they made major renovations to in recent years. I believe they have the galley table that the Japanese signed the unconditional surrender on to end WWII. IIRC, they have some George Washington artifacts as well. Also have John Paul Jones' crypt in the lower level of the chapel adjacent to it, which is spectacular. Aaaaaaaand, you can hit "Chick 'N' Ruth's" deli while you're there. Food is awesome, including killer milkshakes.

Not sure if you're 3 hrs away from Gettysburg on your trip, but there is a lot to see and do, and some interesting shops as well, even for 20th century goodies.

Antietam Battlefield is in Sharpsburg, MD. Made a huge impact on me when I went there. Gettysburg also a must-visit, would agree. There are good shops there, like Garand said - though would expect retail+ prices.

I've had some good responses & tips in the past so I'm hopeful.

Gettysburg I'll be visiting in the Summer when I go back so will not be going there this time.

The Naval Academy sounds interesting, will keep it in mind if time allows.

I may venture to Gettysburg this summer as well... If i go, it'll be with a good friend that knows the battlefield and shops like the back of his hand. I got a75mm Sherman shell casing at one for a very reasonable price. It's fairly new, opened in 2015.
