ccyooper Posted September 4, 2018 Share #5 Posted September 4, 2018 The triangle could mean different things but he could have been in a forward observation squad or even an anti aircraft artillery squad/battery as the triangle was associated with them at times. The dot usually indicates something to do with artillery or at unit level a squad. The triangle is a map symbol for forward observation and sometimes in abbreviated form as anti aircraft artillery.
