Thats awesome. I wonder where the other tags are?

 

I visited the library in Boston a few years back, Im pretty sure they are on display there. To me the coolest piece on display was the Flag from PT109. Simply Amazing.

Here's a shot of the whole piece I just found....

 

"John F. Kennedy wore this dog tag during his service in the United States Navy during World War II. Along with his dog tag, JFK wore a St. Christopher medal and an 1854 gold dollar coin, given to him for good luck by Clare Booth Luce, a family friend and member of the House of Representatives."

In 1943, they changed the requirement for officers to have their rank on the tags to having their file number. Makes more sense than having an officer get a new tag when he got promoted.

​That makes sense, that's why I was surprised they had it on their tag.Still the first one I've ever seen. Very cool item.
