Ronnie Posted December 26, 2016 Share #1 Posted December 26, 2016 Santa was good to me and brought me this massive Randall Bowie with a 14 grind. 9" blade with Micarta handle with finger grips. It is bad to the bone! Ronnie
Blacksmith Posted December 26, 2016 Share #2 Posted December 26, 2016 Each of those are works of art. Beautiful, congrats. Did you order it custom? Apparently it's multiple years to get one made.

Ronnie Posted December 26, 2016 Author Share #5 Posted December 26, 2016 Thank you all and yes blacksmith. It was a custom order. However I ordered it thru a Randall dealer so the wait was only a year. The photos really don't do it justice. This knife is big. Made from 1/4" stock. I have talked to Vince Peloza of Peloza Leather and he is going to build me a new sheath. Peloza makes sheaths like the old Johnson sheaths. They are built like a tank and are beautiful at the same time. Ronnie
Joe55 Posted December 26, 2016 Share #6 Posted December 26, 2016 Years ago I ordered direct from Randall an 'Attack Survival'. When I was packing my gear for deployment to Iraq, I held my knife in my hands an thought, nope, you're staying here, I don't want to loose you. Congratulations on your new blade! jim_mi Posted December 27, 2016 Share #7 Posted December 27, 2016 Check out savagesheaths.com, he makes excellent sheaths. He'll also make sheaths to order if you send him the knife. Jim

Ronnie Posted December 27, 2016 Author Share #9 Posted December 27, 2016 Well Ron it's close. Technically it's a Model 12 Sportsman's Bowie with a 9" blade with a 14 grind, 14 style guard, full tang black Micarta handle with 14 style finger grips and a lanyard hole. You can't order a 14 with a 9" blade. And you can't order a 12 Sportsman's Bowie with an expsosed tang grip. So it is sort of kinda like a model 14. It's like a model 14 on steroids. Massive! Blacksmith Posted December 27, 2016 Share #16 Posted December 27, 2016 Thorin, c'mon now, you don't chop wood with a knife like this... This is a knife you throw at a staple-ridden telephone pole, with a farm pond or rusty junk pile directly behind. "Dag nabbit! Where did that thing go?!?" (Editor's note: Actually got a little queasy even joking about that) In all seriousness, there's likely no better quality working knife, which is why the Randall is so exceptional. Highly functional art. So are you going to carry it to the field and use it to chop firewood?
Ronnie Posted December 27, 2016 Author Share #17 Posted December 27, 2016 Blacksmith it will get used in many different ways. It is a user. It will be fixed to my bug-out-bag. Ronnie
