Picked this up on eBay. Pretty common - right. But check out the sheath. Have never seen one with a Kennedy sheath. (see post 2)

Were these issued/used by military personnel?

Think they were a PX item back in the day. Doubt if they were issued.

The Kennedy marking is from the Minnesota firm that was a knife maker & retailer in WWII. The marking is the same as on his fighting knife scabbards.

Agreed

Very Nice piece

Kennedy was a private maker there was also Moore from St.Paul and Im sure other unknowns who produced knives that were not well known or marketed

Definetly a little different with the Kennedy markings and KnifeCrafters markings. I have three sets a single one like this, another that is a set of three and the stainless steel versions. They all say KnifeCrafters. One set the Knife Crafters insignia on the blade is a little different. Maybe they had other companies help manufacture some of their sheaths or even the knives.
