mammut08 Posted December 19, 2016 Share #1 Posted December 19, 2016 Hi all, I'd like to show you a couple of WWI era flying helmets from my collection. The first is a full hard shell with snap in bib. This helmet is tagged to the Diamond Manufacturing Company, St. Louis, Mo. The crown is made from leather, but everything below it, is constructed from leatherette. This is the only example I have seen of a helmet made from this material (with the exception of the one in the photo below). If anyone else has a similar piece, I would love to see it. Best, Dave

mammut08 Posted December 19, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted December 19, 2016 And finally, a Spalding soft shell that I just kinda like a lot because the peaked brow looks like something a superhero might wear. Thanks for looking! Dave
