Love of flags

Hey guys I've been collecting antique American flags for 4 or 5 years. Just started collecting son in service flags/banners in the past 2 years or so. Just wanted to post pictures of my collection. I'm proud of how far my collection has come along in 2 years. I currently have 17 service flag/banners in my collection. I love and am fascinated by all the different variations. To me its also an honor to think of all the people these stars represented. I invite everyone to post any or all of your service flag/banners. If you collect antique American flags feel free to post those also. I always enjoy seeing other peoples collections and the pieces of history we're preserving.

Just realized my one that has writing on it is a picture of the back not the front.

Great thread! I love these flags as well. I have come across a few over the years and thought I would share them.

Here is a group shot of mine, I think the most unusual one is probably the WAVES banner. The one in the top middle says "A member of this household is in the service of our country", the "Father" one in the top right corner is hand knit.
