Hello,
It looks like you have my grandfather's dog tags. Leonard Ploeckelman from Sheboygan, Wisconsin is my grandfather. Emily from the Witness to War Foundation saw this thread and shared it with my mom a day or two ago, who then shared it with me and my sister. My mom - Joan Butzen - and her siblings are upset that their dad's dog tags ended up on Ebay as that was not something that should have happened.
My grandparents, Leonard and Anita Ploeckelman, were incredible people. They were married for 69 years and both passed away during the summer of 2015. That was a difficult period for my family. My mom, dad and my mom's siblings and their spouses cleaned out my grandparents home and sold their home last fall (2016). Everyone carefully went through the home to take out any personal belongings that were important and all war memorabilia from my grandfather was kept. It has sentimental value, not monetary. No one ever found the dog tags, despite looking for them. Most likely the dog tag was somehow lost in a piece of furniture or some other item that was sold during the estate sale or they were somehow lost in the home - tucked away in a corner or somewhere they were not found prior to the home being sold - and the person who purchased the home found them.
Regardless of how they were lost and ended up on Ebay, my mom and her siblings would really like for them to be returned. My grandfather was a very private, proud and incredibly amazing man and for his dog tags to have been purchased on Ebay and in the hands of an unrelated person is very upsetting.
If you would please be so kind as to reach out to me, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you,

Jennifer Rivera
