38Driver Posted December 12, 2016 Share #1 Posted December 12, 2016 I recently acquired a third set of A9 Flight pants. i didn't need them as I'm still sticking to my two pilots, but they were inexpensive and had the AAF Logo stamped on them and as far as I can tell that's a bit more rare. Once I got them I noticed another bit that seems different too. They have zippers on the inside of the lower leg. I believe it's to allow them ease of going over other clothing and then allowing them to be tightened around the leg. They are narrow enough when zipped that they can't go over the outside of the A6 boots but have to be tucked in. Not sure if that was the intent. They were made by LSL Garment Company. I note that this company is not listed in Blue Leader's wonderful book on ETO USAAF Flight Gear. Anyway, They now took the place of my not as nice A9s on my B-25 bombardier. Close up of the zipper on the inside of the leg attached as well.
