Bellumbill Posted December 4, 2016 Share #3 Posted December 4, 2016 Knife is terrific nice pick up - Re: the scabbard, I believe the original Pal knives came in a Pal stamped scabbard. Love the red spacer USMC knives - I have a decent looking Robeson, thanks for posting. Best, Bill
sactroop Posted December 4, 2016 Share #4 Posted December 4, 2016 Thanks to Gary reminding me, I was re-reading two articles that Frank wrote for Knife World magazine back in Dec 2005 and Jan 2006 regarding the U.S.M.C. 1219C2 knives of WW2. Regarding the PAL U.S.M.C., PAL was awarded a contract, (NOM39096), in January 1943 for 100,000 U.S.M.C. knives. It appears that they completed the contract by March of that year. This looks like the only contract PAL had for the U.S.M.C. 1219C2. Another in a growing line of great knives costa.
doyler Posted December 5, 2016 Share #5 Posted December 5, 2016 Wondering if the knife was reblued? Most PALs seem to have a parkerized finnisg. This one looks to have a bit of use or wear to blade profile and tip.Just curious if refinnished

SKIPH Posted December 5, 2016 Share #7 Posted December 5, 2016 I agree with Ron's comment. As far as I know all red spacer PAL MK2s or 1219C2s that I have seen were parkerized. Suspect this one has been blued, but will research more when I get the chance. SKIP
thorin6 Posted December 5, 2016 Share #8 Posted December 5, 2016 I have two of these, one in a PAL BLADE CO marked sheath. Both are parkerized.
