This is not from the same estate as the other image I posted. A friend asked me about this one.

 

Semi ID'd Civil War Image. Cut down cabinet card w / notation. Info?

 

It appears that the writer's 6 looks like a 7, or he made a mistake in regard to the date.

 

Any thoughts as to unit, etc.

If you can look at the last name with a glass, you may be able to figure it out. If you do, send it over to me and I can run it through the Civil War database.

Probably Frederich Dautel, Co. G 32nd Indiana. Enlisted and mustered into Co. G as a private on 8/24/61. KIA Chickamauga 9/19/63.

The image is a copy shot of a tintype so the cap insignia is reversed. It looks like "32" to me. I can't tell if that is a "G" above it.
