I think this is a very cool image that I happened upon dated March 1945. These three troopers are wearing machetes, two have knuckle knives and the other an M3 starpped to the lower leg.post-56-0-61019600-1480392611.jpg

I agree, the pic looks like a production photo. I was looking at the guy on the left, is his helmet an airborne helmet or a regular M-1? Whatever the case may be it is a great pic of original looking gear.

it is a still from a motion picture but not Hollywood so no its not John Wayne or Objective Burma. This a still from the USAAF First Motion Picture Unit, 18th Army Air Forces Base Unit. Its a training film.

Outstanding photos, I found this photo in a book called Meet the Parachute by Reliance Manufacturing Co. in Feb. of 1944.

Note the M1918 knuckle knife attached to the 16" M-1905 bayonet.
