Airborne knuckle knife and machete

I think this is a very cool image that I happened upon dated March 1945. These three troopers are wearing machetes, two have knuckle knives and the other an M3 starpped to the lower leg.

The trooper on the far left looks to have a USN MK-I machete?

This is the obsolute coolest part of the image at least to me, this trooper is using the USAAF bolo machete.

Excellent photo. What caught my eye first was the AN/PPN-2 Eureka Beacon in the center of the photo.

I agree, the pic looks like a production photo. I was looking at the guy on the left, is his helmet an airborne helmet or a regular M-1? Whatever the case may be it is a great pic of original looking gear.

it is a still from a motion picture but not Hollywood so no its not John Wayne or Objective Burma. This a still from the USAAF First Motion Picture Unit, 18th Army Air Forces Base Unit. Its a training film.

Outstanding photos, I found this photo in a book called Meet the Parachute by Reliance Manufacturing Co. in Feb. of 1944.

Note the M1918 knuckle knife attached to the 16" M-1905 bayonet.
