dustin Posted November 29, 2016 Share #1 Posted November 29, 2016 I think this is a very cool image that I happened upon dated March 1945. These three troopers are wearing machetes, two have knuckle knives and the other an M3 starpped to the lower leg.
dustin Posted November 29, 2016 Author Share #2 Posted November 29, 2016 The trooper on the far left looks to have a USN MK-I machete?

dustin Posted November 29, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted November 29, 2016 This is the obsolute coolest part of the image at least to me, this trooper is using the USAAF bolo machete.
robinb Posted November 29, 2016 Share #5 Posted November 29, 2016 Excellent photo. What caught my eye first was the AN/PPN-2 Eureka Beacon in the center of the photo.

bheskett Posted November 29, 2016 Share #10 Posted November 29, 2016 I agree, the pic looks like a production photo. I was looking at the guy on the left, is his helmet an airborne helmet or a regular M-1? Whatever the case may be it is a great pic of original looking gear. tthen Posted November 30, 2016 Share #13 Posted November 30, 2016 Dustin, Outstanding photos, I found this photo in a book called Meet the Parachute by Reliance Manufacturing Co. in Feb. of 1944. Note the M1918 knuckle knife attached to the 16" M-1905 bayonet.
