I found this while digging around in the dark recesses of my grandmothers house which I bought last year. It looks to be an apron with 2nd Class PO Quartermaster rates and a hat band for the waist tie? Ship is USS Amphitrite. Has monogram FAD who as far as my family research can tell would be Francis A. Day (1874-1906), my grandmothers maternal grandfather (my great-great-grandfather). The Amphitrite was launched June 1883 and was commissioned, decommissioned and recommissioned several times over her service until she was struck in July 1919. I'm guessing this was all put together much later but not sure...

Does anyone have any ship rosters so I can verify if I have the correct family member? Any other comments or observations are appreciated! I know nothing of Navy things!

I don't have any info on the ship's roll, but that's a great looking piece of homefront art! There have been one or two others posted on the forum and I always like seeing more.
