beerdragon54 Posted November 11, 2016 Share #1 Posted November 11, 2016 No better day then to show this. This was my first item military related I ever bought. Found it in an antique shop and it had just come in the door. I took the telegram out of the original frame definitely for the first time, and kept it. I had the telegram framed professionally. I remember I paid around $100 for it and was scared to death but to a chance. I live it and it's the first thing you see in my war room. doughboywwi Posted November 12, 2016 Share #3 Posted November 12, 2016 Wow! What a great piece. Is the series of characters after the 'Received At' bit some form of encryption? Is it some sort of series of commands?
beerdragon54 Posted November 12, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted November 12, 2016 I have no idea what that is. 9 DI RO X 55 OB 1 ex RUSH. In tiny print is a company name that made the paper I presume and Paris. It seems like I once looked up the general at the time and it was General Hunter-Liggett. The very thin telegram paper was glued to an old cardboard type material to give it some sense of sturdiness. You can faintly see where the telegram had been folded in fourths at one time.
