jw517 Posted November 2, 2016 Share #3 Posted November 2, 2016 A collection of MK 1 would be cool. There are quite a few.
sactroop Posted November 2, 2016 Share #4 Posted November 2, 2016 Always surprised me how there are so many different makers/examples of the Mark 1's, yet really very little documentation has seemed to have come to light on these knives.
sundance Posted November 3, 2016 Share #5 Posted November 3, 2016 Nice looking knife. I like the various pommels you find on them.
SKIPH Posted November 3, 2016 Share #6 Posted November 3, 2016 For years my reference was Cole's Book III, but the line drawings did not reflect the visual quality of the various MK1 knives. Finally in 2004, bought a copy of Silvey's "US Military Knives of WW2", and was stunned by the color photos. Since then I have picked up 11 MK1s. Have all the makers, but not all the variations. Most were mint, and cheap! I see on ebay that prices are well over $200 for mint ones, some even higher. Demand has really skyrocketed on these eye appealing blades.
