This Holy Card was in the scrapbook of a different WW2 Navy veteran that I own. He was from the same hometown as Elsinger.

ELSINGER, Francis J, Seaman Second Class, 3058245, USNR, from Wisconsin, Status: Buried At Sea, Memorialized: Tablets of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, was on the USS Birmingham CL-62, Died: October 24, 1944, Parents: Mr. and Mrs. George C. Elsinger, Rt. 1, Hartland, Wis.

The USS Birmingham (CL-62) served with TF 38 during the Battle of Leyte Gulf (24 October 1944). During which, she suffered great topside damage from explosions on board the aircraft carrier USS Princeton while courageously attempting to aid that stricken vessel. 239 men died, 408 were wounded, and the bodies of four were never recovered. The Birmingham retired to Mare Island Navy Yard for repairs.
