I picked this up for $10 at the monthly flea market. Appears to be a post Korean War U.S. Army Class A jacket, named to a Staff Sergeant Simonson.

The ribbons are ones worn by Army Reservists, as well as National Guard. A few of the ribbons correspond to National Guard awards specific to the state of Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania National Guard Service Medal ribbon
Pennsylvania National Guard Stewart Medal Ribbon

Pennsylvania National Guard Governor's Unit Citation (above the name board on the right breast pocket).

The ribbons also indicate Simonson's service in Korea during that conflict - right shoulder former wartime service patch is for the 24th Infantry Division.

Below the marksmanship badge is a National Guard Recruiter badge (left breast pocket.

Staff Sergeant Simonson bears the green felt Leadership tabs on the shoulder boards. However, I'm having some difficulty discerning the distinctive unit insignia crests on the shoulder boards.

The Soldier's specialty brass collar disk is missing, so I'm not certain what his military occupational specialty is. As he doesn't have the Combat Infantry Badge for his service in Korea, he could have had any number of non-combat related skills.

That is a nice coat and it is always a bonus when you find them named/identified.

The di's are for the 109th field artillery.

Brent - Thank you very much for the ID on the crests, and especially for the information link for Sergeant Simonson. I've saved the obituary and will make sure to keep it with the jacket.

LOVE IT. I've been starting to pick up 50-70's 28th ID stuff a lot now. A lot of cool features on this jacket great find!

All the ribbons are consistent with PA Guard service for that unit as well!
