Phantomf4 Posted October 24, 2016 Share #1 Posted October 24, 2016 I've had this flag for awhile and I'm kinda stumped. It has McNamara D C stenciled on the bunting, also it has "4/45 Okinawa" written on it and the names of Halsey, Butler, McArthur, and omar Bradley, also written on it is " Flag from Spanish American war" So any thoughts?, Somebody might have carried it with him during WW2? McNamara the guys name or? any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Bob Hudson Posted October 24, 2016 Share #4 Posted October 24, 2016 Here on the forum we have some examples of Navy flags with stenciled writing indicating the source of the flag, the most common name being MARE ISLAND near San Francisco. Was there some sort of 19th century supply depot called "Mc Namara" in Washington DC?
