I saw this in a shop today. I am not familiar with early war officer's coats. Aside from the rank in the wrong place, the 3 stars on the Philippine ribbon, and the missing insignia, is there anything else that stands out? And what is this worth? Thanks!

This officer's Ike started life as a 4 pocket service coat as indicated on nomenclature label. It's been tailor modified into an Ike jacket and nicely done utilizing the buckle off the belt of the service coat, concealed buttons, etc. I think the going rate on one in this state would be somewhere $25-50 unless a larger size (40+) which can get up there to $100+. Moth damage or problems can affect those prices.

Thanks for the answer! At $150 I left it there, I didn't think it was worth that.

You're welcome.

I suppose the lack of other replies means I must have been close to right? LMAO

$150 is way off the scope for the state it's in. Correctly complete, or near so, would be another story all together Matt!

I guess you were! I was hoping the tag said "$15", but no. With an 8th AF bullion patch, sterling wings, and an ID to a highly decorated pilot, $150 may be reasonable.
