smwinter207 Posted October 20, 2016 Share #1 Posted October 20, 2016 Love this statue, but it broke when the shipper sent it. Any comments on how to fix it? I'm guessing super glue? Thanks
268th C.A. Posted October 20, 2016 Share #2 Posted October 20, 2016 I'd use a small amount of Gorilla glue. Its strong stuff.
TBMflyer Posted October 20, 2016 Share #3 Posted October 20, 2016 I would use some JB weld, it is a two part epoxy that I have used on metal items, then maybe touch up with some brass/copper paint. You should be able to find it at your local hardware store. Mark
smwinter207 Posted October 20, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted October 20, 2016 I just looked up JB Weld. That is some serious stuff. Bc the part is so small, I see it breaking again. So, this might be the fix! Thanks Mark.

I also find myself throwing in "man" randomly in parts of the sentence. I'm not even joking This ads nothing to the discussion at hand, but just had to point it out. Carry on! smwinter207 Posted October 20, 2016 Author Share #6 Posted October 20, 2016 Not to take anything away from Mark, but I'm hoping people do their best Walken impression when reading my posts.
MasonK Posted October 20, 2016 Share #7 Posted October 20, 2016 Ha! Actually, I don't read it in a Walken voice, however I do find myself repeating the line, "I hid this uncomfortable hunk of metal up my @$$ for two years."
kanemono Posted October 20, 2016 Share #8 Posted October 20, 2016 The best way to fix the statue is to drill a hole in both the barrel section and the receiver section. Cut the head off of a finishing nail and epoxy the barrel in place with the nail inside both barrel and receiver. It will be stronger than the original statue. Without the steel re-enforcing the barrel will bream when bumped. Dick
doyler Posted October 20, 2016 Share #9 Posted October 20, 2016 I echo Dicks words...the Dude abides Taking and pinning the barrel to the main casting will work well.A small nail or even a wire rod from a toy car axel or stick pin/needle is all you need. After pinning and glueing if needed you can touch it up with a little copper or bronze color model paint around the joint if you wish.
