Starting Over- My small but growing Special Forces collection

As mentioned in my Re-introduction and Green Beret threads, I've always been intrigued and fascinated by the allure of the Green Berets. After more than 35 years of collecting primarily items pertaining to the 37th Division from 1917-1968 I felt that if I were to ever start on this adventure, it better be sooner than later. I'm well aware that this particular branch of service and time frame can be extremely dangerous when it comes to fakes. I have befriended several trustworthy collectors that have been most helpful in directing me in the way of research materials, and knowledge when presented with a piece I have questions about. As with any new hobby it will take time, I know. I'm learning every day.

I'll be posting new items here as I have time and as they arrive. I will have many questions I'm sure and look forward to your feedback/input on what is posted. It's the only way I'll learn.

While not the first piece I have bought, it is certainly going to be hard to replace this as my favorite uniform. This came from a collector in CA and just arrived. I have very little info on Lt Col. Thomas, so if any of you out there can help, please contact me.

Next up, this came from Owen and was my first SF uniform. Very happy to have this one. Not much info but I think I'm getting some info soon.

Thanks for looking in and any info provided.

From another trustworthy source thats here on the forum as a sponsor:

Capt Hanson, Arty. No info on him either. Hopefully a B or C team?

I think it is possible Capt Hanson could have been on an ODA. I've been accumulating items direct from the vet recently. He was an artillery officer with 1st Cav (FO, FDO, back to FO) who extended and became an Team XO. Interested to hear what others may say as to the possibility.

I have a Foot locker with a CPT Hanson name all over it. I have to look at it tonight for his serial #. Do you have his serial #?

An officer's BOS didn't matter as far as being on an A team.

Forgot about this one. This came from an old friend that bought it from the vet at a swap meet many years ago. Seam has opened up on the Right shoulder. Should I stitch it up, or leave it be?

Specialist 3 or 4 (depending on time frame) Kirdahy...no additional information
