BEAST Posted September 26, 2016 Share #1 Posted September 26, 2016 I was looking at a photo of the 28th Light Artillery Battery, Indiana Volunteers, and it included this image of the Battery Post Master. His name is Ormund C. Davies and his rank is listed as Private. Very unique looking uniform as the rest of the battery is in the blue wool 5 buttons. It also appears that he is wearing a knee high boot. Also note the mail bag at his feet.

BEAST Posted September 27, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted September 27, 2016 Here's an interesting insignia variation; he is wearing the officer's collar "U.S.V." on his shoulder loops.
