Sgt. BARney Posted September 25, 2016 Share #7 Posted September 25, 2016 1A and B is a .50 caliber practice or "dummy" round made to demonstrate loading a weapon. You can tell by the casing material (not brass), the holes in the case and also no primer. The headstamp is for Frankford Arsenal, 1944. 2A and 2B - the linked ones - are .50 cal and as 268th said the primers are still "hot". The black tipped one is an armor piercing round. The headstamps are both St. Louis Arsenal, but one is 1942 and the other 1943. 3 and 4 look like 20mm rounds, but can't tell much else about them. In 5B, the one on the left is .50 cal, headstamped for Twin Cities Arsenal but can't read the date. Beware the cartridge collecting bug!
cerick1450 Posted September 25, 2016 Author Share #8 Posted September 25, 2016 Do these have much collector interest? This is not one of my areas I have been interested in. I bought a bunch of ww2 era weapons parts and small caliber ammo, and these items came with.. Thank you for the help.

Sgt. BARney Posted September 27, 2016 Share #10 Posted September 27, 2016 Yes, there is interest. There are a lot of cartridge collectors out there. However, the ones you have are fairly common.
