ateam69 Posted September 24, 2016 Share #1 Posted September 24, 2016 Bought a WWI 6th division uniform a while back that was in a suit case full of pictures and documents from the soldier and his wife. The uniform has a 6tb division patch, but on the left sleeve is a blue felt patch with 2 crossed red arrows. Any information would be much appreciated. atb Posted September 24, 2016 Share #5 Posted September 24, 2016 Original Distinctive Unit Trimming for the 2d Infantry. In the early 1920's, when the Army directed units to submit designs for distinctive insignia, the criteria allowed variations like the 2d Infantry sleeve patch, 3d Infantry leather shoulder strap, 9th Infantry belt buckle, 4th Infantry shoulder loop ribbon. Only later was the convention of metal and enamel Distinctive Unit Insignia made the norm.
