5thwingmarty Posted September 23, 2016 Share #1 Posted September 23, 2016 A friend pointed this wing out on ebay because he knows Lampl wings are also an interest to me. At first I thought they were just wings that looked similar to Lampl wings, but now that it is in hand I can clearly see its Lampl origin. I presume someone liked the overall style of the Lampl wings, but not the really pointy wing tips. Along with rounding off the tips, they also trimmed the bottom edge feathers where they meet the shield so the edge curves up. The wings were also bent where they meet the shield to give it a vaulted profile rather than the normal Lampl flat profile. The tarnish on the wing is very uniform so this looks to have not been done recently. In reality it has a dull silver finish. All of the photos I took of it came out looking more gold than silver.
