Thurman Posted September 22, 2016 Share #1 Posted September 22, 2016 1922-2016 Deason Moore, 93, of Buna, Texas, was born December 3, 1922 in Garrison, Texas, and passed away on September 15, 2016 in Lufkin, Texas. After graduating from Garrison High School, he served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during WWII. He was part of the landing force on D-Day at Normandy in France, served as part of the landing force in Okinawa and participated in the occupation of Japan.
