doyler Posted September 22, 2016 Share #6 Posted September 22, 2016 I think the horizontal USN came into use in the 50s.Prior or older were curved. Here is an older topic on the full size bade for the Chiefs anchor cap badge. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/159012-chief-petty-officer-combination-cover-anchor-collectors/?fromsearch=

sigsaye Posted September 22, 2016 Share #8 Posted September 22, 2016 The device is a USN Chief Petty Officer collar device, post 1963. These were worn on the collars of the khaki shirts after 1963. I do not believe that females began wearing khaki uniforms until after 1975.

David Minton Posted September 22, 2016 Share #10 Posted September 22, 2016 Ah, I thought that also the CPOs WAVES wore it on her overseas! Anyway WWII or post? That is my understanding, though I have not seen any photos myself. I agree that yours is not a WWII example.
