easterneagle87 Posted September 20, 2016 Share #1 Posted September 20, 2016 Is this patch military at all? Got it in a mixed lot. Thought it was coastie, but that doesn't match. It has the look of some sort of Chief's insignia. Any ideas? I leave it up to you.
MastersMate Posted September 20, 2016 Share #2 Posted September 20, 2016 Not Coast Guard. Looks to be a modern machine made re-creation of an 1860s USN petty officer rate.

sigsaye Posted September 20, 2016 Share #5 Posted September 20, 2016 Yes, a low quality retro of a USN PO badge used from 1852-1866. Thirds are cranked out in Pakistan for reenactors. Originals are all individually hand embroidered as there were no embroidery machines at the time. Any way, these sell new for between $5-$10.
