M6 Style Scabbard - What Is It?

I recently picked up this M6 style scabbard. The scabbard has all the features of a typical M6 scabbard, but instead of being around 14" long, it's around 11" long. The scabbard is unmarked. The rivets down each side and on the metal plate are identical to those on M6's produced by Barwood. There are no obvious signs of it being cut-down from an original length. The scabbard is not long enough to allow a M3 knife to go in all the way. It has significant wear to imply it's old and perhaps WWII period.

Any ideas on what knife it was designed to carry? Other insights or details?

Thanks.

Tim- Just found this knife on ebay. Thought I'd post the ad. I do not know the dealer, just posting for the advancement of collecting knowledge. Ebay #361734055366, Buy Now price $875. This is what Tim's scabbard was paired with. Like the set, but not interested in buying. Hoping someone can post the pics or ad. SKIP

Bill says it's a BCD fighting knife sheath.Said to be a Paramarine knife. There are two variations a 5 1/2 in. Knife and a short stiletto version. One is Parkerized and the other a bright blade. Only one Parkerized blade known.
