Marksman Posted September 8, 2016 Share #1 Posted September 8, 2016 Got this named Ike from a friend. Should i restore it? Maybe you guys can help me. First its Named: LUCERO over the Name you can find a Number / Letter code (?): 2J-643 (or 2J-648 or 2J-693 or 2J-698) Inside the left shouder i found: 1551-L It had two large rank insignia - like Sergeant Overseas Chevron - from the size i would say there were 3 of them On the right shoulder a patch like a shield On the left shoulder a patch like a large pointy triangle - tip downward Over the left poket it looks like there were a badge mounted - my guess a Combat Medic bade or a Parachutist badge with backing? Greetings Stefan Sorry for the bad Photos - just had my Mobile Phone

Captainofthe7th Posted September 9, 2016 Share #7 Posted September 9, 2016 The right shoulder patch looks like 100th Division. If that's the case, there is a Daniel Lucero who was with G Co., 397th Infantry as a PFC. He was from Wyoming. Given the ghosts of the smaller chevrons it seems he stayed in through 1948. Hope that helps. It's hard to tell ghosts form photos, always easier in person with those but I agree with you. I don't think the number-letter stamps are anything significant. If the combat patch is indeed 100th Div, I think Daniel Lucero is your guy. And yes, restore it!! But be sure to get all of his information first....
