vmicraig Posted September 15, 2016 Share #3 Posted September 15, 2016 In 1944-46 when my dad was on active duty for the V-6 program at Holy Cross, they still used the WWII terms of Seaman 1st Class, 2nd Class and 3rd class as opposed to today's rank designators. Kind of like an ROTC program today, they had E-3 rank and attended courses leading to a commission. The V-6 program was disbanded when the war ended and the students were summarily disenrolled. Hence the end of Dad's Navy career.
