Bullion Flight Engineer on Early WWII Tunic

Hello All,

I was going through my uniform inventory of research projects and thought to share this one with the Forum. This bullion Flight Engineer wing is on an early Specification QMC 8-31D EM's Service Coat with Technical Sergeant rank. The only identification are some laundry marks, the most prevalent being "8298-B".

I am interested in comments on the wings, and if anyone can help cross reference the laundry mark with a possible name; anything would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Eric

AAF_Collection

Although not common these are a known pattern of British made wing, they also appear with AG for gunners and I have also seen blue backed examples.

I can't find any likely matches by cross referencing between the WWII Enlistment database and the American Air Museum UK database, but as neither are complete that's not conclusive of anything. Can we see the whole coat?.

Your best bet might be to have a researcher go through the AAF award cards at NPRC looking for ASN's with a matching last four and a surname beginning with B, but it would be a lot of work!.
