Taffy 3 Citations

From a group to an officer on board the CVE Fanshaw Bay, Admiral Spragues flagship during the battle of "Leyte Gulf". As a Senior Communications officer monitoring batlle communications he must have been hearing some amazing chatter. The citations and ribbons had been framed up together by the veteran. I saw those on eBay and almost went for them, but for whatever reason didn't pull the trigger.

As a collector of items related to Taffy 3 I was quite,pleased to get them.

I think it went for a reasonable price. I was concerned about what the condition might be because they all looked like they had gotton wet. You should show the rest of them too!

Kurt, the frames and framing were in poor condition however the documents survived in better shape. The photos from the auction looked worse than the actual pieces. I took a chance on them and was pleased they did not go higher.

 

The seller had some additional items that we worked out a deal on.

I like Taffy 3 items too. Most of mine are Naval Aviation related. I do have the group to the sailor the USS Dennis was named for,
