Kropotkin Posted August 23, 2016 Share #1 Posted August 23, 2016 Hello all, I'm in the process of putting together a framed display of a B17 pilot from the 94th BG and want to include a pair of wings which are as close as possible to those that he is wearing in his portrait. With the portrait not being a pin-sharp image, I'm having trouble trying to work out the likely maker/style of these wings. Would anyone like to hazard a guess as to which wing styles these are? Many thanks.
B-17Guy Posted August 23, 2016 Share #2 Posted August 23, 2016 That is an Adams style wing and has been in use from 1919 to present. That is about all anyone can tell from that photo. John
Kropotkin Posted August 23, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted August 23, 2016 Thanks John. I have a couple of clutch back graduation wings in this style so can use one of them and just stick it into the backing.
