I just picked this up at a thrift shop. I think it is the real deal, but I figured I had better ask the experts on here. Sorry for the lousy pictures:

The K-1 was issued in late 1944 or 1945 but not used in ETO in ww2. Perhaps in Pacific? I should check my docs...

However it has been largely used in Korea along with the same generation of these others USAAF/USAF gabardine and canvas flight suits: L-1 (green) and L-1A (green and then blue).

Nylon K-2 (green) and K-2A (green and then blue) might have been issued after the ww2 and they also were largely used in Korea.

Hope this helps.

The K-1 might be one of the most interesting flight suits, Its development started at the request of the 20th Bomber Command designed as a tropical suit. It's original concept was to copy the British tropical survival suit to include aids from the C-1 vest. They couldn't get the concept to be functional so they streamlined it include a compliment of the K-1 mosquito gloves and eventual integration of the K-2 survival hat, this is essentially a baseball cap with a cloth neck protector and mesh veil.

Ive got an OD K1 that was used in the Med. Im pretty sure they were used in hot and tropical areas.
