abqpropguy Posted August 8, 2016 Share #1 Posted August 8, 2016 I thought I would post this cool photo of some WWI 2nd Division soldiers! Of special interest is the guy who looks like a very pissed off Charlie Chaplain!!

Eric Queen Posted August 8, 2016 Share #4 Posted August 8, 2016 Guessing 1920's on this photo. Can you tell the shape of the patches?
abqpropguy Posted August 8, 2016 Author Share #5 Posted August 8, 2016 Here is the best shot of a patch out of the group! It looks oval in shape.

Eric Queen Posted August 8, 2016 Share #9 Posted August 8, 2016 And black oval is the 4th Inf. Brigade (which was a Marine unit during WW1). Nice photo and not easy to find 20's photos of the different color/shape patches being worn as these phased out quickly and all 2nd Division units adopted the black shield. Hessian Posted August 9, 2016 Share #10 Posted August 9, 2016 Not sure where you picked this up but I originally found it about five years ago in an antique store in San Antonio when I was home visiting. I got excited when I first saw it because of the oval indian head patch as I'd hoped it was 6th MG Bn. Still a great image. I think I sold it on eBay a few years back. It's a great image. Congrats. How weird is that? Strange how things get moved around. I actually got it on eBay last summer I think......just got around to take a look at yesterday!
