arnhem44mad Posted August 7, 2016 Share #1 Posted August 7, 2016 Hey guys and gals inhave an original ww2 ua footlocker dated 1940. I bought it without a key and took it to a loval locksmith who said it was out of his expertise. I recently bought a new lock eith the intention of having it put on to the locker to replace the current one. The only problem is it is a different type of lock! I would rather try and have a key made to fit the original lock i have do i was wondering if anyone has a key for the type of lock that is that they could possibly copy for me and I would pay for this and pay for shipping to Glasgow, Scotland. I will post photos on the US Militaria Forum facebook page as unfortunately i do not get the option to post photos on my phone. Thanks, Scott

hardstripe Posted October 16, 2016 Share #3 Posted October 16, 2016 Attach a close-up photo of the existing lock. I have several old keys that might fit or I could possibly make one.
VMI88 Posted October 20, 2016 Share #4 Posted October 20, 2016 Is there a number on the clasp of the lock? If so, you can probably find an original key on eBay - there are dealers who specialize in selling them. You'll also need to know the brand of the lock. I was able to do this for a couple of field desks that were missing their keys.
