bellasilva Posted July 26, 2016 Share #1 Posted July 26, 2016 Rare? Yes. 13k rare? Not by a long, long, all the way to the fence it's going going gone, shot. In all honesty while the patina looks good, the stamping on the front looks funky/altered, and the back has '"Stanley Frank Susial" stamped. Mistakes happened often on dog tags, but more concern should be in place when it's an MLB players tag. On ebay by the way.
smwinter207 Posted July 26, 2016 Share #2 Posted July 26, 2016 His family did a huge auction of his stuff after he passed. So, this seller must have a document to verify the item. (If real) But I agree, that's not the best stamping I've seen...

bellasilva Posted July 26, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted July 26, 2016 Any idea what his baseball uniform went for at auction? I can honestly only think of a handful of dog tags myself that would reach anywhere near that amount. But hey, someone with 13k burning a hole in their pocket who has always wanted Stan Musial's dog tag may go for it!
Gator Posted July 26, 2016 Share #5 Posted July 26, 2016 I have a documented signed bat that I will let go for less than that :-)
muddyboots Posted July 26, 2016 Share #6 Posted July 26, 2016 I still don't think it is worth 13k.

tarbridge Posted July 28, 2016 Share #12 Posted July 28, 2016 I have been in business for a long time and really do not worry about a seller's asking price. As the owner, you have the latitude to value the item and assign the value whether it's too low or too high.If a item is grossly overpriced, normally it will not sell. The owners will eventually figure it out or not. If asked, I might offer my opinion of the price,if not, I just move along.
