royski Posted July 19, 2016 Share #1 Posted July 19, 2016 Found this while going through my fathers stuff and am not sure on its authenticity. The knuckle guard has been removed and you can tell that the edges have been made smooth post removal of the guard. Unfortunately, there are no markings. Any idea who made it and if it is real? Also, is there any value to an item like this? Thank you in advance for any information!
doyler Posted July 19, 2016 Share #2 Posted July 19, 2016 Its real and I would say made by A.C.C. Company by the nut on the end.
siclfde Posted July 19, 2016 Share #3 Posted July 19, 2016 I agree it is an ACC and it is an authentic piece that was made in WWI. They were marked on the inside of the knuckle bow that was removed. It has some value as a curiosity piece for a specialty collector. The absence of the knuckle bow and no sheath affect the value dramatically. I would guess you would sell it for $40 - $70 on eBay.
