Cap Camouflage Pattern I

post-153751-0-03925700-1501657086.jpg

This image just feels off to me, how high resolution it is, the 3 color desert helmet covers, the guy in the back with the fully tan uniform and PASGT vest, but the two in the front are wearing the black armor that rangers did, so I think it's legit.

they are some great pics you posted.

I found that last picture on line and the caption is

United States soldiers return fire at snipers from behind a wall just outside the compound of Somali warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid in Mogadishu in 1993

I wonder if that's true, consider where the photographer is standing, it does look like there is a little something bottom right so perhaps he is in cover, also I doubt those cinder blocks would stop an intermediate rifle round, much less a full power rifle round, although often "snipers" in these fights against untrained forces are just a guy with an AK taking potshots from a distance.

Sorry for neglecting the 2-14 Infantry, 10th Mountain Division and the Malaysians and Pakistanis, it's not because I've forgotten them, it's because all photos of 1st SFOD and Rangers in Somalia are related to Gothic Serpent, while most pictures of the 10th Mountain Division an the Malaysians and Pakistanis are from Operation Restore Hope, making it hard to tell if they are the rescue forces or not.

Soldiers of B Company, 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, watch helicopter activity over Mogadishu on Oct 3, 1993.

Companies A and C were the ones in the rescue convoy.

I don't think I've posted this one before but this thread is so long it's hard to check.

Baakara Market, I think taken by 1st SFOD-D because of the flashlight mounted to the rifle.

I absolutely second that. I've read through this topic multiple times, and I think it does a great job memorializing the men that fought and sacrificed in that operation.

If you haven't watched Major Struecker's convocation video from Liberty University, it's well worth the time:

I've enjoyed this post immensely. Thanks to all who have contributed to it.

DEVGRU Red Squadron, unlike the picture of Gold Squadron earlier on I can tell for sure this is in Moghadishu as part of TF Ranger, in the background you can seen the white railing of the JOC seen in other photos in this thread.

I think the man on the left may be wearing an ZTL A.Z.T. vest like some of the rangers.
