I need some help identifying the markings on the inside of this pistol belt. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

I've seen a big 'X' like that on WWII Army clothing that was reissued. Perhaps your marking is related to that.

Here is an image that was posted by member 'General Apathy' of the condition/class 'X' mark I was referring to. It is very similar looking to yours. Normally such a mark is found on items either worn out, or obsolete?
