swag Posted June 20, 2016 Share #1 Posted June 20, 2016 Had the opportunity to examine MG Allen's tropical tunic. The 104th ID bullion patch is amazing, the pictures don't do it justice. Kevin

jim46 Posted June 21, 2016 Share #14 Posted June 21, 2016 Interesting that it has a World War I Victory Medal, but no World War II Victory Medal.
Allan H. Posted June 21, 2016 Share #15 Posted June 21, 2016 I know a guy whose father served under Terrible Terry in WWII. He was so impressed with Terry Allen that the guy's father named him "Terrance Allen" for the general. To me, it has to be the greatest testiment to a leader to have a subordinate name his first born son after him. Great uniform! I'd love to know where it resides. Timberwolf Posted June 22, 2016 Share #19 Posted June 22, 2016 Interesting, General Allen must have had two of these summer uniforms. I recall this forum member posting his example: http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/193271-patton-doolittle-and-other-general-uniforms-my-collection-on-the-web/?hl=%2Bterry+%2Ballen&do=findComment&comment=1498848 http://www.generalsofwwii.com/allen.html
etousa Posted June 23, 2016 Share #20 Posted June 23, 2016 When I first saw this uniform I knew it had to be made at the same time as mine! I will attach a few photos for comparison. For those who are quick on your feet you will notice that the Mexican Border/Service ribbon is wrong...All the ribbon bars of General Allen that I have seen have been on a green background which means he moved them around on all his uniforms green or tan. I will attach a photo of General Allen wearing what I believe to be the exact ribbon bar that is on my tan.
