Hello Member # 34,986 this is newbie to this forum Member # 163,287 and I wanted to thank you for your work with the Triple CIB and encourage you to keep up the good work. I know it is not easy cause I've doing it for about 12 years as well and not had a whole lot of luck. My dad, Lionel F. Pinn, Sr., is a member of this exclusive club and I felt compelled to know more. One of the best resources I have found is this forum and your work. I am writing now to ask permission to uses some of your work with notation and acknowledgment. I am the admistrator for the Facebook Page doing the same work and documentation. Thanks again, L. Pinn, Jr.

Warren D. Hodges was born in Lawrence, Kan. and attended the University of Kansas, where he played baseball and football before joining the Army in 1942. He later earned a degree from the University of Nebraska. He was also a graduate of several military command schools.

Hodges served during World War II in France and Germany, where he was wounded, and was later assigned to Japan, where he was General Douglas MacArthur's honor guard commander.

He became an assistant secretary for capital planning in the state Department of Planning, and was named to head the Maryland National Guard by Governor Harry R. Hughes in 1980. He held the post until 1987.

In Vietnam he was the Bn CO of the 4th Battalion 23rd Infantry "Tomahawks", 1965-66, he may of been the CO when this battalion was in Alaska and took it to Hawaii and then South Vietnam.

115. HENDRY, James B.

no Info

Photo Update on Hendry, taken in 1962, a curious one, as we see Hendry wearing artillery branch of service badges, two guesses here, is he briefly switched branches in the 50s, and would transfer back to infantry by mid 60s, or he remained in artillery and was over there as an advisor, advisors who were officers getting the CIB no matter what there branch was.

Checked the registry for him, yep in 62 he was Art, by the late 60s he was back in Inf, he apparently wrote a book.
