Hit my favorite show today in Raleigh. Ran into a few friends. Picked up a nice CASE blued, blade marked M3, has some scabbard wear, but is a nice one. Got it for a decent price. Also picked up an unmarked, but legit M6, possibly a Barwood (rivits look identical), from my bud Tarheel Tim. He, me, and 3 others agreed it was legit. The CASE, and the M6 were paired, and a nice set was born. When I left Raleigh, drove back down I-95 and stopped by the Fayetteville Gun Show. Not much there in the way of collectible knives that I needed, or wanted. That show has turned into 50% flea market junk, jerky, jewelry, T-shirts, a political tabled, high priced ammo show. There are guns, insanely priced, knives that mostly came from QVC deals. Have watched that show deteriorate over the last 30 years. It's a shame! SKIP

Sad that some of the shows are trending the way of the Fayetteville show. I have noticed the same thing with the Chantilly show in the last 10 years or so. I think they are doing it 4-5 times a year now. Although it is only 10 miles away, I seldom go anymore. jewelry, info-mercial stuff, trinkets, junk, etc.

I agree Skip - they are changing the definition of a flea market. Caused by the promoters selling out to every trinket dealer out there. I just focus on the big/established shows (Baltimore/MAX/SoS) anymore.

Made it to the show today (returned last night from New Mexico). Picked up a Australian/New Zealand knuckle knife from an acquaintance who just came in on Sunday and set up for a couple of hours. Also a theater knife (much cheaper that the knuckle knife). I'll post pictures later. Really quiet on Sunday's, I got there around 11:30 and left at 2:00 as several people were already packing up. There were plenty of blades available, prices in some cases were reasonable, other prices high. No great deals but there was enough to make someone happy.

The economic rule on debased currency, "Bad money drives out good", applies to gun shows as well. When I first started going to the Chantilly show, many antique weapons dealers and collectors set up tables. Over the years as more and more junk dealers moved in, more and more legitimate dealers dropped out. Now there are just a couple who bother to come. If you are interested in buying modern guns and accouterments, e.g. Glocks, AK-47s, 9mm ammo, etc or a broad range of other non-weapons/militaria, e.g. jewelry, t-shirts, Jerky, etc, this is still your show. If you're looking for quality items for your arms and militaria collection, however, not much...

Thanks a lot guys for your reply......From what I have scratched up the last few weeks....these were done during/after the Korean War...is the best I could find.....there are two for sale on Ebay...looked like they have been chromed.....one for $125.00 but no name on it...and there are "slots" in the Guard for the locking mechanism.?....and the same seller has one for $175.00 and it has the name on it...also chromed....whoever did mine went the extra mile and did a Solid Guard...as there are no slots nor is the open slide area in the back......as I said.....whoever did this put is some time......Im going to clean it this weekend......I have to laugh because as I said earlier.......only one other bidder on it...and I will betcha...that the word "Patina" and the fair photos put the majority of folks off.......my photo does not do it justice as it looks a whole lot better...I was Very Satisfied when I opened the box.....nice size...nice heft to it......now to find a good brown leather scabbard for it........once again.....thanks......Im looking forward to this Forum.......I collect primarily WW2 German....spent 2 years back in the early 60s at Ramstein Air Base........Best Regards.....Hans Fischer
