bheskett Posted May 29, 2016 Share #5 Posted May 29, 2016 The cat looks more like a buffalo. Looks like this has been worn and washed a bunch of times. Very nice pick-up. It looks like it is post war and made up by a kids in the 50's or 60's. I like it.

ocsfollowme Posted May 29, 2016 Share #15 Posted May 29, 2016 The patch with the mace is the 108th inf div. considered a phantom unit since the division only existed on paper to fool the germans http://www.ww2patchquilt.com/phantom.html
ocsfollowme Posted May 29, 2016 Share #16 Posted May 29, 2016 A better photo of the buffalo or patch could help but it appears that this jacket has a bunch of variations of theatre made patches so my guess it is that, of the 81st
usaaf93 Posted May 29, 2016 Author Share #17 Posted May 29, 2016 Thanks again Steve. I will make better shots when I will receive the jacket. Do you know if the 5th div gold border is also Korean war ?

Wake1941 Posted May 30, 2016 Share #19 Posted May 30, 2016 The gold border looks like it is German or possibly Japanese made that may be why it is gold
lamarhooten Posted May 30, 2016 Share #20 Posted May 30, 2016 The 104th patch looks pretty funky too! Its on the back right shoulder area. Maybe a better pic of it also please.
firefighter Posted May 30, 2016 Share #21 Posted May 30, 2016 A lot of great variations and theater made patches. Excellent score. The 5th Div on the front is an odd variation and the 10th Corps looks to have a bullion border.
atb Posted May 30, 2016 Share #22 Posted May 30, 2016 The buffalo is a buffalo being viewed from an angle. To me it looks like a 92d Infantry Division SSI.
atb Posted May 30, 2016 Share #23 Posted May 30, 2016 The buffalo is a buffalo being viewed from an angle. To me it looks like a 92d Infantry Division SSI. Now that I have looked at the front view in the image in post number one, it looks like a wolf.
